Chapter I ‘Gloria Sparks’, was inspired by a member of Schultz’s family. Subsequent chapters focus on Gloria’s grandson Junior Sparks (Chapter II), and then finally the harrowing story of her son Jimmy Sparks (Chapter III)." - NPR NEWS
